Sunfish repairs – paint scheme

I had planned to post more pictures of damage from Debby, but I worked on the sunfish Sunday and got so excited about it I have to jump the queue.

I scrubbed down the sunfish on my back porch.  Having been left outside for 10 years did take it’s toll.  I’ve sort of been avoiding doing anything with the hull, in part because I’m not sure what to do.  Here are before/after pictures.

That back end didn’t come very clean.  Also, I didn’t clean the cockpit yet.

About half way through I realized I should just take it to a car wash and power spray it.  I’ll need some help though.  It’s just to heavy and bulky to carry it by myself.

Wow, what a surprise! Look at that stripe. Very nice and so pretty. I did a Google, and came up with these pictures:

Look at that back stripe.  Very interesting.  No trace of it at all on mine.  Uncovering that stripe was very exciting to me.  It makes me want to make more progress.  I hope I can make it look that good.  Also, my splash guard was originally blue.  I am going to paint my boat like this.
